From Thursday 20th November it's worth looking out for tastings at lots of vineyards for the Côtes du Rhône Nouveau. The local papers have lists of places that will be doing the tastings, especially over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd. And you can also taste previous vintages. There is usally some food available too.

Apparently 2009 is going to be a really good vintage.

It is also worth thinking about going over to the other side of the Rhône for some of the wines in the Gard.
