You should be able to buy beet pulp from your local farm co-operative or if they do not have in stock they should be able to order it in. If you are near St Martin de Crau then you could go to Carrierre Distrubtion on the main road to Salon de Provence and they have it in stock. If the horse is not a working / sport horse then use the old methods of not feeding any grains or other treats, make it exercise daily and feed a lower sugar content hay (or alfalfa if the horse does not react to it) until the weight has dropped and the laminitis (if it has it ) has gone.

Hi Brucie thank you for the advice .I have tried ordering beet pulp locally with no luck ,i shall certainly give carrierre distrubtions a ring to find out, who their supplier are and pick up a sac when i am in the area.

Up until recently i have been able to get Happy Hoof locally which has been great !It mainly to hide medicines and supplements which taken for cushings a well as IR.

At the moment she gets low grade hay ,lucerne pellets and happy hoof ,i like feeding the happy hoof as it stops her from stealing her young companions ration .

Also someone had suggested i contact a local equine clinic at a race coarse and they have given me a contact for a race horse feed supplier which looks promising
