Long dark nights, warm firesides and cosy blankets – it's the perfect time of year to curl up with a good book! Many foreigners living in France miss being able to pop in to their local library, or stop off at a bookshop on the way home from work to pick up a good read.

Also, something many find surprising is how many local libraries have a selection of books in English see Libraries & Book Exchanges in The AngloFILE for addresses in your area. Or you could visit your local médiathèque – many have English-language publications.
